ABOUT dr. James Sarkodieh

Dr James Sarkodieh is a Consultant Radiologist at Barts Health NHS trust. He obtained his primary medical degree at Barts and the London, passing with Distinction. He also undertook an intercalated degree in Sports & Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary, University of London before working as a junior doctor in London and Essex.

He undertook his Radiology specialty training at the Barts and the London scheme and completed subspecialty training in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Royal London and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospitals. He has also obtained the European Diploma of Musculoskeletal Radiology and the Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine. This broad knowledge, in combination with his experience in semi-professional football give him a unique insight into the mechanisms of injury, diagnosis and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

He is proficient in ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections. In his regular practice he interprets a wide range of MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound studies.

In addition, Dr Sarkodieh completed Radiology training at the old London Chest Hospital and is a key member of the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team. He maintains his interest in chest imaging through membership of the British Society of Thoracic Imaging.

For his ongoing postgraduate teaching contribution, Dr Sarkodieh has been conferred the title of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Centre for Sports & Exercise Medicine, William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
